The Namibian youth are doing the things that need to be done this year compared to the previous years where words had no actions. More and more initiatives to uplift the art status as well as to celebrate the artists are being born and we can’t help but admire the efforts.

One that seems to be taking off pretty well is the SoundWave Africa’s edgy concept of creating musical shows and innovative events for the artistic and expressive generation, in their words.

The aim behind the creation of SoundWave Africa is to elevate Namibian artist and brands as well as the creative industry as a whole by having monthly artist, group and brand focused shows and events at Zoo Park amphitheater. As a way of reviving the venue too, SoundWave Africa will be hosting an installation of their shows each month as of May.

The concept behind SoundWave Africa’s Zoo Park shows is to select a different artist or group to host a show in partnership with SoundWave Africa and the appropriate Namibian and international sponsors every month end.

According to SoundWave Africa, the selected artist or group will be at the forefront and be the face of the show and will have authority in regards to the overall creative direction that should be taken to have a show that best represented their group. In the end, the capital acquired by the artists can then be used for projects such as music videos, production of new music, paying for features or to simply elevate their brand.
