Grammy Award Winning Ladysmith Black Mambazo Founder Dies

The musician was pronounced dead on Tuesday morning

Grammy award-winning Ladysmith Black Mambazo founder, Joseph Shabalala has died at age 78 . The star was pronounced dead today ,he died at at Life Eugene Marais in Pretoria after a short illness.

The news of his passing has shocked many in South Africa and he been topping the twitter trends for hours now. The group's manager confirmed the news when he said, "We have lost a leader of the family and of the group. As the family we are shocked and saddened"

The tributes have already begun pouring in from every corner of the country and it's extremely sad to see the pain that many of the nation's biggest artists are in. His friend Sipho Hotsix Mabuza also paid a moving tribute to him.


His memorial service and funeral plans have not been announced. May his soul rest in peace.
