The multi-talented singer shot fame a few years ago and she was one of the few musicians in the country who was able to command the attention of fans with her beautiful voice and great stage presence.

According to The Namibian, the singer collapsed at her salon and passed on. Since the news of her untimely passing broke on Saturday, messages of condolences have been flooding social media platforms. Celebrities including the likes of DJ Kaboz, Gazza, Pombili, Shilongo, and Sunny Boy have paid tribute to the late artist.

@mvenaani tweeted, "Deeply touch and commiserate with our nation and the music fraternity on the demise of renowned Musician Tunakie. We were very fond of each other. Her mellifluous voice shall always linger on in my ears. Kakadhona owa nyenga omutima wadje. Vululukwa nombili muholike wange."

@Gazza467_  tweeted, "Saddened by the news of the legendary Tunakie’s passing  I’m sending all my strength and condolences to her friends and family,"

@Bigben wrote "My condolences to the family, fans, and Friends for the loss of a fellow musician Tunakie Meme Waakwana. We will remember the music and person of Tuna. We met a long time ago in Windhoek West and gotten to share space and stage.#rip."

@fireshikomba tweeted "Tunakie was special. The golden voice expressed the beauty of Aawambo culture. With her music, she represented Namibia internationally fearlessly. She blazed so brightly. God we love her and how lucky we are to have had her in our lives.
Afropop singer Jackson Wahengo remembered the musician with a heartfelt tribute song on social media.

News of Tunakie's comes after the sudden passing of AKA's fiancee Nellie Tembe. Nellie took her fatal fall, just hours after having a night out at Pepperclub in Cape Town.

AKA who was engaged to Nellie, took to his social media accounts to break his silence in a statement where he said that Anele's death has taken a major psychological toll on him.

"I have lost the love of my life... and every day feels like a mountain to climb. I miss Anele, so much, and I'm heartbroken at the unfulfilled life we had planned together," he said.
