Yvonne Chaka Chaka Announced As Headliner For Windhoek Jazz Festival

The Windhoek Jazz Festival is one of the most anticipated annual events in the capital.

What's a Jazz celebration without a celebrated legendary act much like the powerhouse Yvonne Chaka Chaka. During the 2019 Windhoek Jazz Festival launch, it was announced that the legend will be headlining the event and will be joined by many other celebrated African artists.

The jazz festival is looking to uphold its reputation of excellence and world class entertainment, it has gained over the last 8 years since its inception. The festival will take place on 2 November at the Independence Stadium in the capital and will accommodate the genres greats.

“This is an event that has grown from strength to strength annually. Every year, we come together, young and old, to enjoy jazz music. Jazz is great music. Jazz music has the most talented artists who continue to grow their brand.” Said  Katrina Hanse-Himarwa, the patron for the festival.

The 2018 festival has been a huge success, and they along with organizers plan to keep that train of success progressing.

The popular music event that is diarised countrywide has attracted many tourists to Windhoek. It is a major contributor to the upliftment of the city.

Performing at the festival are South African artists Garth Taylor and Vusi Nova. As well as the famous Lisbon born  jazz musician Cicero Lee, Sean K, Dan Shout, William Petersen, The FuJazz Band and Alistair and the Swingers Band. Many other acts are set to blaze the stage.

Tickets are sold at N$250
