As American actress Gabrielle Union turns 50, she decided to go on an African Wade Tour. She and her husband Dwayne Wade and their daughter kaavia has visited 3 African countries so far but admitted that the Namibian sand dunes brought her closer to her ancestors.
Before jetting off to Africa, she penned an appreciation post to her friends and family.
"As we start this journey across the world for my 50th, I just want to luxuriate in my gratitude for my family, my amazing friends and all the friends I haven’t even met in person who have kept this train on the tracks this year, even after I collided with myself. Her first stop was a 2 day stay in Zanzibar and they received a very warm welcome. "I’m still processing the level of effort and planning that went into pulling off such an unbelievable 50th birthday party in Zanzibar Tanzania and keep the details a surprise from my nosy self. I’m beyond grateful for all of my loved ones who flew around the world to celebrate with me. How @dwyanewade @ronndarocksevents @dauniedaune got THE @lisalisall77 to come all this way to perform was unreal. Thank you Lisa for being so amazing to my Mom & reminding me that your childhood heroes can turn out to be as lovely as you imagined them. After Zanzibar, they jetted off to Ghana where she said her daughter Kaavia felt like home. "Ghana owes us nothing, but gave us EVERYTHING! @kaaviajames felt right at home WadeWorldTour2022."
The third stop was in our beautiful country, Namibia. "Red Dunes of Namibia. Top 3 most beautiful places I’ve ever seen and experienced. A truly stunning and magical place. After her trip in Namibia, she went to South Africa In Johannesburg. While there, Kaavia turned 4 years old. She penned a sweet message to her daughter.
"Happiest of birthdays to my little brown girl with a soul wise beyond her years and a brain and spirit that is so open and free you inspire literally everyone around you. Watching you turn 4 years old in #SouthAfrica after traveling through 3 other countries throughout Africa has been one of the biggest blessings of our lives.
