Ryan Nyambe's early life and background
Ryan Nyambe was born on the 4th of December 1997 in Katima Mulilo, Namibia. He was raised by his uncle and aunt until he was ten years old.
He then moved to Manchester, England in 2008 to live with his mother who had moved to the country years before.
Growing up in Namibia, Nyambe played football in school. After moving to England, he joined a local team before joining Blackburn Rovers academy in 2011 when he was 13 years old.
Ryan Nyambe’s career
Ryan Nyambe signed his first professional deal in July 2015 when it was announced that he had joined Blackburn for a three-year contract. He made his professional debut a month later in August 2015 when he was named in Blackburn’s starting-eleven for their first-round EFL Cup fixture against Shrewsbury Town.
Nyambe made his league debut for Blackburn on November 19, 2016, coming on as a 77th-minute substitute for Danny Graham in a 3-2 Championship victory over Brentford.
Even though Blackburn was relegated to League one during the 2016–17 season, Nyambe who made 31 competitive appearances in the season won the club’s Young Player of the Year award.
On July 21, 2017, it was announced that Nyambe had agreed to a new three-year contract with the club, with a 12-month extension option. Following a disastrous previous season, Nyambe assisted Blackburn Rovers in regaining promotion to the Championship after finishing runners-up to Wigan Athletic in League One at the end of the 2017-18 season. Despite suffering a hamstring injury in March 2018, Nyambe made 35 appearances for the club in all competitions.
Blackburn Rovers announced on April 23, 2019, that Nyambe had signed a new two-year contract with the club, with the option to extend his stay until the summer of 2022.
Following the expiry of his contract with Blackburn Rovers, Nyambe joined Wigan Athletics for a one-year contract.
