Following the unfortunate yet sudden cancellation of Queen Sono season 2, Pearl Thusi had been mocked by trolls however she has the last laugh. She has landed herself an international gig but is yet to spill the beans.
The actress was on the second season of America's star-studded series Quantico, where she portrayed a lead role, but she left the show in the midst of a creative shakeup on the show. In a tweet, Pearl said she was leaving South Africa for the first time this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic to work on this project. The TV star did not reveal what the project is or where she will be working on it.
In a statement, a Netflix spokesperson confirmed that they have decided to not continue with the second season.
Pearl Thusi also confirmed the news, “It’s so incredible that we as a team got a lifetime opportunity to make history together as there will never be another ‘first’ African Netflix Original Series. I’m proud of the work we did, but everything happens for a reason. I am excited about what the future holds.” said Pearl Thusi, Lead Actress for Queen Sono.
