SA Kwaito Star Mshoza Has Passed On

Mzansi is still struggling to come to terms with the untimely passing of Kwaito star Nomasonto Maswanganyi, who was popularly known as Mshoza.

Circumstances surrounding her cause of death are still sketchy at this point. News of her passing was confirmed by her very close friend Khanyi Mbau who took to social media and wrote "REST IN PEACE MY LOVE . I am tired 2020."

Mshoza died in Johannesburg hospital this morning, 19 November 2020, and messages of condolences and tributes have been pouring in to her family and friends.

Earlier this year, Mshoza allegedly contracted the Coronavirus. The 37-year-old shot fame several years ago. Mshoza started singing at the tender age of 10 and started dancing for kwaito group, Chiskop from 1998. She signed her very first deal at the young age of 15.

Mshoza hogged the headlines with her multiple cosmetics surgeries which made her trend. Celebs including Boity, Tipcee, Phil Mphela and DJ Zinhle have reacted to the news of her passing.

"RIP Godmother. The Gigi Gang Loves you. We will tell you all about the strides when we see you again. You opened it all up. You fought and lived a good one. A pioneer. A sister. A fearless women. Mbokodo. Her hit single , “Kortes” and opening up doors for young women in the Kwaito/ hip hop scene," wrote Gigi Lamayne.
