Makhadzi is a superstar and on an interview she did with CNN’s African Voices she revealed what and who helped her get to where she is currently. Master KG encouraged the singer to only perform in her mother tongue. He also gave her concrete advice on what type of music and sound is most suitable.
"He's the only person who pushed me and told me that you must speak on your language. You must not change your language just sing in Venda," she said.
