After some technical issues, the interview was then re-uploaded and thousands of people tuned in to watch. Despite what many might have concluded about AKA and Nelli's relationship, which according to people was toxic, he said he treated Anele like Gold!

Moses Tembe, her father gave his views about the interview and contradicted AKA's claims of he was taken off the program during her memorial service, as he was set to speak. He said he was not permitted to speak but Moses Tembe said AKA did not ask to be on the program.

In a statement which was posted by BarLeader at the end of the interview, he says, “We held memorial services all week preceding Anele's funeral service. Kiernan's father and Kiernan's friend spoke alongside Tembe family. Kiernan never made a request nor was he ever denied an opportunity to read his message on the day of the funeral.

“We are a private family and it has been like that for decades. We view such relationships as private and treat as such... We would like to be given space to grieve. We’ve lost our daughter and we are hurting badly,” reads part of the statement.
