Rugby is a world sport that millions of people around the globe love and watch; in actuality, there is a famous quote that says 'Saturdays are for rugby.' We love the game because of the adoring crowds, die-hard fans, unforgettable tackles, war cries, and lads in tight short pants. We decided to put together a list of Kenya's greatest rugby players throughout history.

Collins Injera

Collins Injera's name has been cheered from the stands for nearly 15 years, and his skills have wowed millions and millions of people around the world. Injera discovered rugby by accident while still in high school and has never looked back. He has played in a number of international games for Kenya, and he helped the country reach the Rugby World Cup semi-finals in 2009. The rugby player is currently second in the World Rugby Sevens Series for the most tries scored, with 271 to his name.

Humphrey Kayange

Humphrey Kayange, like his brother Collins Injera, has made a name for himself in rugby history books. The former team captain has won multiple times while playing for Kenya's National Sevens team. He also has a degree in biochemistry and is a member of the International Olympic Committee.

Andrew Amonde

Andrew is widely considered to be one of the greatest rugby players of all time. He captained Kenya at the Olympic Games in both 2016 and 2021, and he led the Kenya Sevens to victory at the Singapore Sevens in 2016.

Despite his natural talent for rugby, the former captain began his athletic career playing basketball and handball. At the age of 37, Andrew decided to hang up his boots and retire from the sport in 2021, he is now focusing on personal projects.

Billy Odhiambo

Last but not least on the list is Billy 'The Kid' Odhiambo. Billy, like most of the other legendary figures on this list, started playing when he was still in high school. Billy was hand selected and went on to receive a scholarship which allowed him to perfect his skill, and he was named the Kenya Cup league's leading try scorer in 2012 - 2013. He continues to represent Kenya on a global scale.

Please let us know if you know of anyone else who should be on this list.
