Musician and media personality Paul Munanjala affectionately known as Paul Da Prince, recently hogged the headlines after landing himself in hot water with the immigration officials for apparently being an illegal immigrant in the country.

According to The Namibian, the singer was locked up at the Ariamsvlei border post for apparently not being in possession of a work permit. Paul who has been in the country for several years now has managed to build a successful career in the Namibian entertainment industry.

The star dabbles as an MC, TV and radio personality and DJ and everything he does turns into gold. He recently spread his wings into acting last year when he made a cameo on Mzansi's much-loved TV show The Queen.

Speaking to The Namibian, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security executive director Etienne Maritz said Munanjala's study permit was rejected when he applied for it as he came to the country to study.

“The ministry does not have any record of the application for a study permit from Munanjala, which means he never applied for a study permit,” said Maritz.

It is unclear how the star was arrested but the ongoing strike at the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) might have contributed to his arrest as a heated debate recently ensued after workers at the broadcasting corporation alleged that foreign nationals are taking their jobs.

It seems the singer was later released as he has been living it up in South Africa. This past weekend Paul was spotted at Cofi, a restaurant in Centurion, Pretoria, celebrating SK Khoza's fiancee's birthday.

Paul and SK Khoza'e bromance always leave us green with envy. The two have shared a set together on The Queen and fans were blown away by Paul Da Prince's performance! Watching Paul Da Prince showcase another one of his talents on the show was certainly a treat for the eyes and they always support each other's hustles.

Fans reacted to his arrest

@Micky_right tweeted "Sending hugs and positive vibes to @PaulDaPrince . I hope you are okay.
@@VamatiTuli tweeted "I'm also a freelancer at NBC who is totally sympathetic towards my colleague @PaulDaPrince. I disapprove the shading on my Paul, by the striking workers. Moreover, I, together with other non-striking workers am exercising the right not to be part of the proters."
