The athletes went on a homecoming tour around Namibia to grace the masses with their present and appreciate all the love they have been receiving. They even met President Hage Geingob who took to social media to boast about them.

"Our brave athletes and team that participated in the #TokyoOlympics2020 received a warm Namibian welcome for their brilliant efforts. During a dinner in their honor, I thanked the whole team and again congratulated Christine for bringing home a silver medal in the 200M!"

Mboma and Masilingi flew the country's flag high this year at the prestigious Tokyo Olympics.  Christine scooped a silver medal in the women's 200m finals. The athlete gave a stellar performance by finishing at 21.81. Masilingi came in sixth place and she finished at 22,28 seconds.

The past couple of days have seen brands donating products and vouchers to them. Standard Bank Namibia has pledged to donate N$300,00 towards their education.

"You never know where your greatness could take you. Congratulations to @christine_mboma and @beatrice_masilingi for inspiring a resilient and passionate nation. You’ve restored hope and belief in every Namibian child that IT CAN BE. As you continue on your journey to bring more medals and break more records, Standard Bank Namibia will be your running partner with an investment of N$300,000 towards your education which includes tuition fees, hostel fees, and laptops."

MTC recently announced that it will sponsor the athletes with a whopping N$2 million. "MTC is proud to announce a sponsorship worth N$2 million to Beatrice Masilingi and Christine Mboma for the next three years,’ they shared.

FlyWestair has offered to support the athletes with free flight tickets for the next two years. Namcor is also set to donate a Toyota Fortuner to the athletes

"Congrats to Christine Mboma and Beatrice Masilingi on their epic Olympics thus far. #Namibia is behind you all the way! #flywestair is proud to support these star athletes with flights to and from our destinations for the next 2 years."
Wildlife resort Namibia has sponsored the two with accommodation vouchers to relax at their resort.

Mboma and Masilingi were recently banned by the World Athletics from participating in the women's 400m due to naturally high testosterone levels but this did not deter them from flourishing in the competition.

It is beautiful to see our girls winning after being deemed unqualified for the 400m. Speaking to BBC News the athletes said that what happened to them after being removed from the 400m list was unfair. "We all come from different areas and are raised differently. It's just different. We are all created differently, with different purposes. So you can't compare me with someone else. It's really unfair," says Masilingi.

Congratulations to the athletes.
