Namibian Hip Hop artist KK has defended King Tee Dee after protestors and social media users questioned his motives for showing up to the gender based violence protests on 13 October 2020.

KK took to his twitter account and said that perhaps King Tee Dee was really concerned about gender based violence in the country hence why he showed up to support the protest. ''To be honest it’s kind of sad seeing what’s happening to Dogg right now. I believe he genuinely went there to show support and is now being dragged through the mud for it.'' he tweeted.

King Tee Dee was approached by protestors and they wanted to know why the artist only showed up to the protest a few day after it initially started and why was not showing protestors support before he came to join them. King Tee said he was busy and said he understood why the protestors were marching because he was a father with daughters.

Namibian youth organised themselves and started a peaceful demonstration since 01 October 2020 to put an end to femicide, gender based violence and the rape of women in Namibia. The youth have demanded the government take necessary steps to ensure Namibian women are protected.  The police ended up attacking and wounding women, men and children who were at the protest on Saturday 10 October 2020. The police authoritise stated that they were provoked by the unarmed protesters and that is why they fired teargas and rubber bullets at them. However, social media posts and accounts from protestors argued that the police intimidated them.
