Music is enjoyed by people all over the world. It is one thing that is able to connect people from all walks of life. 

But, being a musician is not always easy.  The music industry is not easy to break into and to stay at the top is a great challenge. 

Musicians have to spend a lot of time in the studio coming up with songs that will entertain their fans. They also need to ensure they stay true to their sound, regardless of their competitors.

These male musicians seem to have figured out the recipe to success. They keep producing hit after hit and have got awards to show it.

They are the biggest selling artists in Namibia. They know how to get just about anyone on their feet. Let's take a look at the biggest male artists in Namibia.

As soon as one mentions Namibian male singers, Gazza's name comes to mind. He is one of the biggest Namibian singers. That's why his other nickname is king.

The 'Chelete' hitmaker is the first Namibian artist to reach 1 million views on YouTube.

Gazza has twelve albums.  He is a diverse artist and his music is a mixture of Kwaito, dancehall, reggae, and hip hop.

He is so brilliant in his art that JCI Namibia even honoured him with the most outstanding young Namibian Award.

Gazza has his own record label, Gaza Music Productions (GMP). He started it in 2004. 

He is also a firm believer in helping others succeed and uses his label to do just that. Under it, he has signed artists such as Street kid, Tequila, DJ Shoza, Black Sheep, and Luvy. 

Gazza won an award for best Kwaito Music Video at the Channel O Spirit of Africa Music Awards. He has also won Sanlam NBC Music Awards and  Namibia music awards. 

His other big awards include the Namibian Music Awards (NAMAS)'s Male Artist of the Year and Best Video for the song. 

He is signed to Universal music – the world's leading music company. 

Some of Gazza's hit songs include Chelete, Kwateni Omnona, Shukusha and Mokasie. 

Jackson Wahengo

Legendary guitarist Jackson Wahengo might have only released one album, Akutu Hewa, but he is an international star. He has enjoyed performing in South Africa and London.

His latest single Tulonga has proved that Jackson's sound is timeless. 

Sunny Boy

Sunny Boy is known for his unique sound, a mixture of Kwaito and Hip Hop.

The Namibian superstar big break came in 2004 when he collaborated with Gazza on his song Koko.

To date, he has seven albums. His first one Young, Black en Gifted was a true reflection of who he is - a young and gifted black guy!

The musician owns his own record label Yaziza Entertainment and hopes to help make the dreams of aspiring musicians a reality. 

Michael Pulse

Namibian R&B singer and songwriter, Michael Pulse is an amazing singer. He is the king of love songs. The star won the best R&B award at the NAMAs in 2017. 

Whether you are looking for music to help mend your broken heart, or help set the right atmosphere for a romantic evening, Michael is the right guy to do just that. For years his music has been helping people deal with relationship challenges. 

He recently collaborated with Leonard Witbeen on the song All You Need. The song has received much love from Namibians.

Stefan Ludik

Afrikaaner singer Stefan Ludik is a very talented musician whose music is enjoyed all over Africa.

He released his debut album Liggroen Doringbome in 2005 followed by Vuur & Water in 2007, Burn This Town in 2010 and Boererock in 2014.

Ludik is an award-winning artist. He was awarded the best alternative song for the single Black Girl, White Boy, at the Afroatainment Museke Online Africa Music Award (MOAMA).


Eric Sell AKA EES is one of the biggest rappers in Namibia.

He was signed under NAM FLAVA MUSIC and now owns his own label called EES Records. The musician who hails from Windhoek has released over ten albums.

He has won over eight awards, including Channel O awards, MTV Listeners Choice award and the Sanlam award. In 2010, he won the African Music Awards for Best Southern African Artist. 

The musician has taken his music across the borders of Namibia, having performed in South Africa and Germany. 

King Tee Dee

King Tee Dee is one of the top-selling artists in Namibia. He has been in the music industry for over a decade - since 2003.

King is a musical genius and has won more than 20 awards including international ones.

He has 11 albums and is the highest-selling artist in Namibia.

His albums are:

Shimaliw' Osatana which he released in 2004 under RC Ghetto. The same year he released another album called Take Out Yo Gun under Mshasho.

In 2006 he released Introducing TeeDee. His other albums include You Can't Ignore, This Is My Time, The Power of 7 - Elevating Elevators, The Deception, Live or Die, Respect My Hustle and Concrete Jungle. 

All these musicians have proved that hard work, passion and remaining true to your sound will get you far in life.
