Making a name for herself in the Namibian fashion industry, Princess Tjozongoro has now made the world her playground. The model is now based in the UK and is killing the game with every strut she takes down the runway.

“I realized there was a lot more I had to do and learn in order to grow as a professional model,” says the model, while at the  Simply You Magazine Lifestyle and Fashion Awards.

She gathered the last of her savings and with the help of her mother agency Ubuntu Modelling Agency, Tjozongoro traveled to England this year.

Her new agency, Black Afro Queens, is based in Manchester and is owned by modelling scout Andrew Bannon.

While having found what she was looking for, she still reminisces about her days in Namibia.

I must say I miss the bond, memories and journey I have had. But this was long overdue as my then agent, Steve Mbingeneeko (also known as Very Steve), said, we need to push the envelope and reach the peak with my career. That meant going abroad as Namibia can only do that up to a certain level as our market is small.

Since being signed to her new agency, Tjozongoro headed to London for London Fashion Week (LFW) auditions. As fate would have it, she was cast to walk for House of iKons at LFW.

Tjozongoro has since modelled for a variety of international designers including Sofiya Mozely, Nadia Azumi and Chavez.

“House of iKons was all about bringing fashion and creativity under one roof from all over. There was so much diversity, even among the models I worked with,” she says, mentioning that race, gender, sexuality and size are non-factors on the London fashion scene.

We're happy to see that #GiraffeLife has set this Namibian treasure to new heights.
