Speaking to Helena Ngaifiwa who is the managing director, The Namibian reported that there are lesser categories this year. This was due to the low sponsors so they had to reject 100s of applications and only pick about 50 people.

“The new categories are fewer, we had to cut the categories down to make sure everyone is catered for in terms of the prize money,” said Helena. “We look at the criteria put in place, such as personality profile and the years of being in the industry. Looking at the amount of new people who applied, we will definitely be looking into including upcoming personalities in the future,” she added.

The award ceremony will be held at the National Theatre of Namibia in September for people who actually want to participate.
