In a Tweet, Lioness said she wore a mask and she was in a corner while waiting for her slot. "First of all, I’d like to address this news about Avani, etc. I was there in my mask in a corner waiting for my slot. I wore my mask ALL time. I, unfortunately, cannot control the actions of other people," she wrote.

As the president recently announced that the country is experiencing a second wave as the number of COVID-19 infections is rising, people have been advised to follow the regulations.

A Twitter user who goes by the handle of @leevi_immanuel slammed the event by writing "It's very sad to see the president @hagegeingob and the GRN trying to fight for us to prevent the spread of COVID-19 but we are really ignorant. What happened at Avani last night was reckless behaviors from young people who clearly understand the state our hospitals are in."

Lioness recently recovered from the novel coronavirus after being exposed to an individual who tested positive. Taking to social media to make the announcement she wrote "It’s unfortunate that I was in contact with a COVID 19 + individual. Your doctor will be going into self-isolation and taking the appropriate measures! I love you all."

To celebrate her recovery, the award-winning musician dropped a new single titled Feelings featuring Waters. Hot on the heels from dropping her single she also debuted her collaboration with fashion designer Georgia Foxy Kandjeke. The two launched their own clothing line.

2020 hit her again when she was also involved in a car accident. Taking to social media to detail the accident, Lioness said she was going to be taking some time off to rest. In a tweet, she said no one was badly injured during the accident. The singer said she was on her way back from the clinic when a tire burst and the vehicle rolled three times.

The accident reminded her that life is too short and she cautioned her followers to be safe. Lioness shared pictures of the vehicle overturned. The singer had previously set tongues wagging after she took to social media to share about an unfortunate incident she encountered. The rapper posted a picture of her car tyre punctured and asked if someone wanted her dead or not? Lioness captioned the snap "Y'all want me dead now or what?
